This jump really compressed the riders' suspension:

There were a ton of crazy deep ruts!

Seattle Supercross

A view of the pits from the stadium:

A view of the track from inside the stadium:

And a view of the track from our seats. The people standing on the start straight are part of the military and are pledging allegiance to the flag as part of a military recruitment campaign. Among other things, they vowed to follow orders from their superiors without question and do whatever the president tells them. Imagine if the military taught people to think for themselves rather than just follow orders? We'd be in a very different world.

The roost if flying bigtime as Brady Sheren looks like he's gonna get the holeshot here, but low and behold he just let off too early into the corner and consequently couldn't qualify.
And in spite of years of potential and opportunity, his riding career now fades into oblivion:

And the Aussie Jake Moss takes the first heat win.

Trust the beach, and go more often, if only for a short time.

Few places can be trusted to always be serene.

The ocean is one of them.

Just don't park on it.

Feeling bad on this "good" Friday?

I know I am, so I decided to post some flowers to cheer me up. It didn't work though. While beautiful, I feel like they're just too superficial to affect the depth of my mood. For me, today is just "average" Friday.

--Busy Bees--

Endangered but not extinct, these guys love that sweet sweet necture.

And there sure seem to be a lot of them, considering the rapid drop in some bee species' numbers.

This guy looks like he's just chillin out taking a big lick of plant leaf.

close, closer, too close

Depth of field is what I set out to better understand yesterday afternoon.

The skunks don't yet smell.

These are the hardest to shoot. Little shadows to avoid while getting it all in focus is seemingly impossible.

Unexpectedly, this one turned out kind of neat.

and this one seemsly softly vivid.
